I feel this is a factual book aimed at 9-11 year olds. There is a very clean a minimalist look to these illustrations with some texture incorporated. The information included in this book is not too complex but puts across useful facts which older children would be interested in.
The illustrations are in conjunction with the text which is very important for a factual book so the reader and audience do not get confused.

Mog is a picture book which is aimed at younger children. Children and adults can relate to the stories in this book if they have a pet cat. I think the familiarity of stories in picture books for children is very important as it makes the child feel engaged with the book as it is something they can relate to. A lot of picture books include humour which I think engages the adult as well, this ultimately creates a bonding experience with the parent and child.

The Illustrations in this picture book are created using pencil, watercolour or sometimes both. Some of the images in the book are imaginative as well as humorous to look at.

'Where's Spot' allows very young children to interact with the book. It includes very limited text with very simple words which some toddlers may be able to pronounce.
The shapes and bold colours attract babies and toddlers leading to interaction. The illustrations engage toddlers/ babies as they add to their curiosity. Interaction is important for babies and young toddlers as it aids their sensory development and understanding of the world.

Soft toys are sometimes sold with young children's books which may be to aid them with their imagination with the book and allow them to play and make up their own scenarios.
